Bichon Frise and Poodle Puppies in Hawaii
To those of you who live in the Hawaiian Islands, we have had the pleasure of helping a local family
bring their Red Poodle, Ulanui, into your state. We did all
of the quarantine here on the mainland at our home in New Mexico. If you have looked into this at
all, you know that there is a lot of coordination involved in getting your Bichon
puppy or Poodle puppy into Hawaii.
The vet we used here did the rabies vaccines, 2 of them, followed by the
titer testing, and then the Red Poodle puppy did the 6 month quarantine also here in New Mexico with
us. The family was then able to pick the puppy up on the
mainland themselves and take her home on the plane to
Hawaii in their laps.
Ulani and Family
Myuju and Monica
I picked up Myuju at 4:20pm Hawaii time today.
I have been waiting for him at the airport office for 2hours.
How adorable he is!
We got home and took 2 minutes to come out from the gage, but everything was fine after.
He started checking house walking around and played with toys, poops and ate!
Now he is sleeping on my lap.
I promise to take care of him good.
Thank you so much to rase him so nice way.
I will send his pics. later!
Well it’s been a week
now since Zoey arrived, I thought I would give you an update. She is a really good girl, full of kisses and she
aims to please. She is well potty trained to the crate and she has not had an accident in the house yet. I give
her a lot of freedom to explore and after a little trepidation she loves the grass and the garden. She runs full
speed and jumps off rocks, digs a little and cruises around the peach tree or rose bushes sniffing everything.
We go out everyday for at least an hour. Zoey also is so good about her bath and grooming, she sits patiently
for me. She does not run away when called, she jumps in and out of the car and loves to go places. At first she
was shy and growled or barked at other people and dogs, but gradually she is becoming more socialized. Thank you
again, you did a great job with raising her! I wondered how she would behave at six months after being in a
different environment. She is very well mannered and eager to learn. I think she acclimated well and is very
happy and so am I. Here’s some photos of her first week explorations.
Aloha Kim &
Most people will prefer to have the dog shipped into the islands and
meet their puppy at the airport, where they must then proceed to the quarantine area for the final
approval and entrance into Hawaii.
We are happy to help you with this process, in
understanding the costs, the paperwork, and everything else that is involved in getting your Sweetwater Poodle
puppy or Bichon Frise puppy through quarantine and safely to your home in Hawaii.
